Ciutadella International Picnic | Meet New People in Barcelona | June 7, 2026

There is something special about spending a Sunday afternoon at Parc de la Ciutadella. People from different countries came together once again to share snacks, enjoy the sunshine, and spend time with both new and familiar faces in one of Barcelona's most iconic parks.

One of the best things about international picnics in Barcelona is how naturally conversations begin. Within minutes, people who had never met before were talking about travel, life in Barcelona, different cultures, and future plans.

Parc de la Ciutadella has become one of our favourite meeting spots because it offers the perfect combination of green spaces, a relaxed atmosphere, and a central location that is easy to reach from anywhere in the city.

Some people had just moved to Barcelona, while others had been living here for years. Despite their different backgrounds and nationalities, everyone shared the same goal: meeting new people and enjoying a pleasant Sunday afternoon outdoors.

International picnics are a simple reminder that making friends in a new city does not have to be complicated. Sometimes all it takes is bringing a few snacks, finding a spot on the grass, and saying hello to someone new.
