Cycling Along the Besòs River to Ripollet | Barcelona Bike Meetup | May 30th 2026

There is something special about leaving the busy streets of Barcelona behind and following the Besòs River by bike. On this international cycling meetup, we rode along one of the city's most enjoyable and accessible cycling routes, making our way towards Ripollet while enjoying green spaces, great conversations, and the simple pleasure of exploring together on two wheels.

The Besòs River has undergone an incredible transformation over the years. Once one of the most polluted rivers in Europe, it is now one of the largest green spaces in the Barcelona metropolitan area, offering dedicated cycling paths and beautiful riverside scenery that attracts walkers, runners, and cyclists alike.

One of the best things about cycling meetups is that the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination. Along the route, we stopped several times to chat, take photos, and appreciate the changing landscapes as we gradually moved away from the city and into quieter surroundings.
